History

MDSAS was formed and is headed by Dr Rob Hollingsworth, a leading Health Informatics Professional with over fifteen years experience of delivering multi-million-pound international health care projects for the NHS and beyond. Rob's career began at UMIST (Manchester University) where his early projects included a European Intensive Care Expert System and a Nationally implemented Haemophilia Clinical Information System. Rob is a chartered software engineer (CEng), a chartered member of the British Computer Society (MBCS CITP) and is level 3 registered with the UK Council for Health Informatics Professions (UKCHIP). He stays in touch with the latest developments in Health Informatics via his position on the committee (treasurer) of the BCS Health Informatics Northern Group which involves him in organising and attending leading regional healthcare informatics events.

Clients

MDSAS has vast experiecent of working with clients from both the NHS and Industry. Clients include the Department of Health, Deloitte, Health Protection Agency, Purchasing and Supplies Agency, Pharma Industries, Commissioners, EU, Trusts etc. MDSAS acquires almost all of its new clients through referral from satisfied existing clients.

Staffing

MDSAS ensures that its staff have the relevant skills to meet the needs of our clients in the Health Informatics Sector. To this end we employ staff with PhD, MSc and Degree qualifications in relevent disciplines and also support professional registration with bodies such as the UK Council for Health Informatics Professions (UKCHIP).

Technologies

It has always been MDSAS's policy to keep abreast of the latest IT development technologies, mainly Microsoft orientated. This enables us to produce systems for our clients that take advantage of technologies such as AJAX, .NET, SQL Server, Reporting Services etc. to deliver the very best user experience and ensure a successful implementation.
